So I'm glad I got that thing finished for math... it turns out that I have another test this Thursday, and one more the Thursday after... so my life will be consumed with math. And CSU applications. I need this!

It turns out that the occurance yesterday night at Osakaya was a robbery which turned into a homicide. =( That explains why the whole area was Police-Lined. The suspect was caught on photo, but it seems he hasn't been ID'ed yet. It's frightening that it happened so close... it's even more frightening that I was oblivious even though I wasn't any more than 120 ft. away. It was a shooting and I didn't even hear anything.

I need to get in gear on the math stuff... today has been good, though. I've been listening to Hillsong stuff-- (the CD I got when I was baptized), and singing along to some songs I haven't heard in a while. It'd be nice to do some of these as a worship set some day. I noticed the CD had some dirt & grime collected on the surface from being in my car... but it played okay (it was near the edge, where no data was), so I quickly ripped all the songs... it's a pretty old CD. >.<

Now I have music to listen to again. =)

Lost for words with all to say
Lord You take my breath away
Still my soul, my soul cries out
You are holy

As I look upon Your name
Circumstances fade away
Now Your glory steals my heart
You are holy!

LAN Party+

Friday and Saturday were the LAN party. It was very lively on Friday, with around 16 people there and a mass jungle-network of CAT5's linking us all together and to the internet. Gloria brought her Wii, along with several party games.

I went over to Gene's place before the party started to hang out for a bit, because I was bored in the afternoon after having gone shopping with mom for new clothes (Black Friday). I watched him try to crank up Crysis (around 20FPS)... it was also Sophia's birthday, and I didn't really want to intrude. The party started at 5, and they were getting ready to eat dinner at like, 5:15... so I decided to go off to church first in case people were confused.

At church, Levi was there presiding, so everything was okay. We were still wondering where to set up (the original plan was in the Mandarin Chapel, which is nice and roomy, and has all our worship eq. in it), but it turned out that the Mandarin congregation had a thing going on there Friday, so we packed up and moved up to the English's chapel, which was considerably less roomy (but still plenty of space).

I was hoping to play some good games and maybe get some new games there, but my computer's too crappy to run the new stuff, and they mostly played CS and SC, neither of which really appealed to me. So, I ended up actually not playing anything on LAN most of the time.

Gloria had Warioware Smooth Moves on the Wii, which was fun and awesome. The stories were pretty cute and wacky, and the mini-games were really fun... also the way it introduced new grips was hilarious! It was like one of those serene, self-help videos. XD That was probably the most fun I had gaming the entire party.

I played some Aces High with Bryant, but I fail horribly at it, and spent most of the time (unsuccessfully) trying to shake him off my tail. When I did have good chances to take shots (mostly cheapshots while he was taking off), I missed most of them so he didn't die. The only thing I successfully shot down was an AI bomber that was big and slow. (lol)

Also, I was playing around in Third Strike, and Grace saw, and she wanted to try button-mashing in it. So after a few unsuccessful attempts, I h4xt and let her use Gill. It was sooo much fun watching her chop her way to victory. XD Very simple, but fun. (for me, at least!)

So most of the party was me walking around seeing what other people were doing... and staring at my computer trying to figure out what to do. I would have played DoD, but I looked at the server list and all the latency values were like 1500+. o.O;

I thought people were gonna sleep over, but they ended up not... so I went home and slept around 1:30AM.

Saturday morning, woke up at 10:30 (when I was supposed to be already at church T_T), and showered, got to church at 11:15AM for practice... but most people still weren't doing anything, so I looked upstairs, and 6 people were gamin' away. Practiced the worship set until around 2:30PM, then we all went to Costco for lunch. It was a good lunch! I spent a lot of money because everything looked so good... so in the end, I found out that the best things are still hotdog + pizza. (though the frozen yogurt was pretty great for $1.25 ... but to truly enjoy it, I need to get it after my meal).

Went back, and this time- there were less people there... most people seemed kind of tired, and Gloria didn't bring back her Wii. T_T I picked up Daniel and went there...

One of the highlights of Saturday: playing DoD co-op style with Daniel! I lent Ted my mouse to play Starcraft (because he didn't have one for his laptop), so I was left with my tablet. Daniel used the tablet to control aiming, shooting and punching... and I used left-hand to control movement. And we fought in Avalanche. XD (it turns out that even though latency shows up as 1500+ in the server browser, the real ping in-game is still great at around 40!)

It was veery difficult at first, but we got the hang of it! (after setting sensitivity to like, 0.4 lol) It was like DoD on a joystick! XD (+ co-op) We learned to coordinate together to execute a single strategy. XD It was one of the best co-op experiences I've had in gaming for a very long time!

Everyone else was Starcraftin' it up. At around 7, we decided to play UT and close up the party... I couldn't get UT to work, so... we packed up a bit early and left. LAN party over. ;_;

Daniel and I went to The Hat for food (after unsuccessfully trying to locate Savoy)... I told him about my Grelior storyline, and we talked and stuff and ate until 9:30. The onion rings were terrible... and the hotdog wasn't as good as Costco's. T_T; That's what I get for trying to be cheap at The Hat. (speaking of which, I need money)

We decided to かいさん and meet up online in DoD. XD So after I went home, I set-up the big lamp for mum, and went to Cantelope Island with Daniel. It was very fun~

Cool moments: I did a nice rush against Allied 1st in Flash... I used half a clip of C96 to kill the first guy, nabbed his BAR and gunned down a second, then started shooting at a 3rd when it clicked out of ammo, so I swapped to the C96 as he was reloading and finished him off, took his thompson and reloaded it. Then I tried to fight the next wave, but died.

A second one: there was an Axis MG on Colmar that was doing really well rambo'ing us in close corridors, which I know is difficult, but yet didn't really like. I realized after a long while that he was dropping MG's all over the place every time he died... so I grabbed one of the MGs, and proned inside the last bomb point (at AA)... then I SPRAYED the entrance and killed like, a wave and a half of guys while my team planted and detonated, winning the round.

Later on, someone came in as, "JesusIsLord"... so I changed my name to, "SatanHasLost", and Daniel was, "HolySpiritFTW"... together, we rocked at Avalanche, and became the God Squad!

Sunday:

Played for worship in the morning. I wanted to wake up to go to Sunday school, but I laid in bed a bit too long... and ended up waking at 10:30 per usual. T_T... so I went to church in time to play for worship team. Afterwards, Tony wanted to go to IHOP, so we went together... group of 7 guys. It was nice to hang out with friends... I'm really glad I have the EFC brothers!

Sent Tony and Gene home, then went to Josh's house at around 5 or 6PM... and asked Josh / Jon for help on fixing my math test.... It's so difficult!! I really need to pass this class in order to get into CSU's by Fall of next year.. =( This will be difficult.. to try to pull a C in the final stretch. T_T;

Usually there are several weeks between tests, but I think it'll be more rapid now that we're nearing the final weeks. =(

Also, I wanted to go home at 10PM (to get my math book to look up sources), but it turns out the place I parked my car (next to Osakaya) was cordoned off in a police line! o.O; The officer there told me there was a robbery.... so I'd have to wait until around 12AM for them to finish. I told mom, and she brought my book to me at Josh's place... and with that, I was able to finish off the questions I skipped on the 1-hour test in 4-hours (what a relief! -- but there's no way I could've done it without them... because I was still stuck at many of the problems until Josh and Jon helped me figure them out T_T)... but Josh et al needed to get to sleep to go to work tomorrow morning..

So I went outside at midnight, and the police were still there doing their thing. I waited next to a corner... and entertained myself by drumming and singing some praise music... then walking around the block and trying to be stealthy, looking for the darkest areas that I could conceal myself and still get a good look at what they were doing.

I almost gave up at around 1:20AM, and started to walk towards home when I saw them finally taking down the police line... so I walked around the plaza, and came home at around 1:40.

Then I got home, and started writing this. Apparently this entry's taken me like... half an hour to type. o.O; I go sleep now.

Thanksgiving

My first real entry here-- I'm poking at Movable Type and seeing what I can do here as I munch on a banana. Today was a good day; woke up at around 10 and started to do some cleaning around the house after freshening up. Betty, 2win and his family were gonna all come and celebrate together, so we wanted to keep the house neat and stuff.

There were some leftovers in the fridge from a fellowship mom had on Saturday, so I took those and cooked 'em up into a mushroom steak egg scramble for breakfast. For lunch, I wanted to try out the Korean BBQ thing that Daniel ordered last time, so I went to Phoenix with mom.

Looking at the menu, there was also this Thai style pan-fried shrimp cake that looked really delicious, so I got that, too. ... but the thing turned out to be really tough. Mom said it was like eating rubber, which-- really wasn't all that far away from the truth. I didn't eat much of the BBQ dish, so we wrapped that up for keeping. Tomorrow's lunch. =)

We decided to start grocery shopping for the stuff we'd need for tonight, so mom wrote a list of things and went to 99 Ranch. It was crammed in there! So many people around... I started looking for ingredients to make some somen, but I didn't find any of the ones I wanted at 99 Ranch, so I prepared to get those at Mitsuwa.

When we got back home around 3:45, Betty & Co. had already arrived, so mom decided to stay home and begin preparing. I made the trip over to Mitsuwa and started shopping for stuffs there. Got some "potofu" (aka じゃがいも), fish-cake tofu and some beef sukiyaki (which everyone thought was kobe beef). Also bought two bottles of somen tsuyu and .. somen, since we were expecting around 10 people.

I got home, and 2win and his friends had already booted up Guitar Hero III and were rocking out (I could hear from the driveway). I brought back the goodies and started helping out. Cut this, bash that... wash this, and prepare that. By the time the work was done, I realized that we had soo much food that I really didn't have to cook the somen, so I didn't. Dinner was hotpot, with steak from mom, and lemongrass chicken from 2win with Apple Sidra, Calpis, and Sparkling Apple Cider to accompany it.

This was my first time really spending time and talking with 2win's family. Jimmy's pretty cool- we talked about funk and stuff for a bit. After dinner, most of the guys filtered back over to the Guitar Hero, and I was trying to figure out what to do. 2win's mom made this dessert that was really good-- it had two different types of mochi-ish things inside a very sweet juice that tasted like caramel + coconut, topped with sesame. It was really good-- but for some reason the only people that ate it were 2win and me.

Annie, mom's coworker from Filer, also came by to spend the evening. It was nice to see her here-- and watch her play Guitar Hero, too! 2win downloaded a video of himself boxing with his brother...

After Betty & Co. left at around 9:30, mom stayed and chatted with Annie for a while afterwards. I retired to my room and started daydreaming about Sophius, and Aki, and Grelior. Then I got tired of doing that, so I came back and DOD'ed for a bit.... and then decided to write about all this.

Tomorrow, we're gonna go buy some clothes. And LAN PARTY!! It'll be interestin'. =)
